The Never Kicked ChimChim

Greetings fellow players of Integral and welcome to The Never Kicked ChimChim! This event will push your creativity to the limit as you design and bring to life your very own ChimChim. What is a ChimChim you may ask? Chims are the vital source in Steam Technology. Their sphere's above their heads represent that power, which is referred to as the Chim Sphere. To prove your worth as a player, you must kick the ChimChim, take it's Chim Sphere, and upgrade your Steam Technology to further advance yourself throughout The World.

Put your artistic skills to the test and create your very own ChimChim utilizing this basic template.

And show us a worth Chim of being kicked! All participants in this event will earn themselves this award of participation as well as having their creations added to the Facebook and forum photo albums.

There is no set deadline, and will be a re-occurring event..

So lets get kicking!

New Milestones

If you don't know what a milestone is, then i suggest you read over this article on Milestones. What is a milestone? Basically an achievement award based on your completion or participation as a user, character, and/or member of this community.

As of late, two new awards have been made.

Reputable Role-Starter
You have successfully created a role-play topic with well over 10 pages of post!
Sociable
Joined in 5 or more official Skype parties hosted by an administrator of Integrability

In Reputable you have to create a role-play in Fictional Play, then have other members of the forum participate in your role-play. If your role-play reaches 10 pages or more of replies, then you will be given this milestone for your success.

In Sociable, you must have participated in one of our administrator hosted Skype chats. Don't know what Skype is? It is an instant messenger that uses basic texting abilities but specializes in voice chatting. Many other options lay wake for Skype such as special made house phones with Skype capabilities, apps for your iPhone's and other mobile devices to get on Skype are available, and the Skype messenger client at http://www.skype.com but you may even find web services that offer Skype embedded in a webpage like https://imo.im/ Remember though, an administrator must be the one that hosts your Skype chat for this to count.

Also, the missing Never Been Kicked ChimChim milestone was added.

Deviant Group to Deviant Club

As the year 2010 is slowly gone forward, so has deviantArt and so has Integrability. Last year we introduced to you our deviantArt page. It was limited in structure that only 1 person could be productive on the group as a whole. DeviantArt stepped up the level with their Deviant Clubs, a system which allows individual people to interact and work together to create and maintain a clubhouse style group where members can freely join then interact and engage with others fellow deviants. User Choice Awards 2010

Welcome to the fifth annual User Choice Awards! In this event you can nominate people who you have noticed around the site over the last year, and give them the recognition you feel they deserve.

There are a few rules in place before you cast your ballots!
1. You may not vote for yourself.
2. You may not vote for the same person in more than 3 categories.
3. FM all ballots to me, Effie. You may only cast one ballot!
4. You have until April 1st, before the UCA ends. Get those votes in!
5. All staff and users can participate.
6. Your Nominee must have been active in the last 3 months

The most dangerous player to walk the streets of Integral
9. Hottest Face:
The sexiest man or woman alive here
10. Most Kind:
The person who's always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it be to friends, newbies, or even enemies
11. Fight Champion:
The one who vividly writes their battles, making their enemy feel each blow by their roleplaying words alone.
12. Fashonisto/a:
Ever stylish, this person knows how to strut their stuff with the Dynamic Avatar system.
13. Integral Clown:
The funniest member in all of Integral.
14. Most Radical RL/RP Change:
One who changes the most from in character to out of character.
15. Most Knowledgeable on Gaming:
One who knows the game world, lives it, loves it, and plays it.
16. Best Otaku:
One who knows their anime at heart.
17. Most Spirited:
The person who has participated in most of the events!
18. The Better Spammer:
They who spams like there is no tomorrow, whether is be on the forum, or on the IRC.
19. Best Rivalry:
The Best two players who have been at it like no other; they just wanted to PK and get at the other
20. Biggest Return:
Member who has been gone a long time and recently came back into the site flow blow active.
21. De vet:
Active member of the site who has been around since it 06 who still participate.
22. Best Personality:
This person just has an overall unique personality

Blogs Can Import?

Your blog here on the Integrability forum comes naturally in two flavors, local or external blog. An external blog basically links your blog here to goto your own personal blog elsewhere on any other site. Whereas a local blog allows you to create and post to a blog here on the forum using the forum as your blog hosting.

What you may not know is that your local blog hosted here can also bring in your entries from another site or blog online elsewhere. To make this work, go over to the blog creation page and setup your blog. Afterwards, return back to the main blog menu and click on the button [options] across from the name of your blog and click on Manage RSS Import...

For your blog, you are only allowed to synchronize up with 1 external blog to import your blog entries from. For RSS Feed URL just enter the URL address of your blogs "RSS". Usually this can be found on your blog with the rss icon . Now since these will be generically added entries to your blog here on the forum, you may predefine a few tags for your blog with the Enter tags to apply to all imported items option, be sure to separate the tags with a comma. And finally you can also predefine which category they are added to with the Select categories to apply to all imported items option.

For HTTP_AUTH Username and HTTP_AUTH Password, this is least likely to affect anyone using a common blog services like Wordpress, Blogger, LiveJournal, DeviantART, Facebook, or etc... Therefore I highly suggest to NEVER use this option for any reason.

This may all seem confusing at first, but I assure you it works and makes sense. I myself am using this option for my own personal blog here on the forum, where my entries are copied over from Wordpress constantly. But because my entries are copied over, I am still allowed to create my own entries here on the blog at on this forum. Meaning what the blogs are now synchronizing is just added on top to what I would normally post on my forum blog here.

Q06 // Becoming Dothack

Welcome to the legendary monthly .hack//Integral event! Yes as the name states, in this event you have a chance to go above the rules on Usernames and win yourself the chance to have the name of a dothack character much like two of our resident users Sora, Macha, and Elk.

Offtopic: Note that being staff now does not allow you to change your usernames as there was an old site rule allowing staff users to choose a dothacker name, both users and staff are now required to participate in this event if they so choose to obtain a unique moniker.

Here are the rules in participating for this event.

This event will be hold every month
Those who already have a dothacker name may not enter
Only those that enter in this event are eligible to win
You must only reply with "I accept", anything else stated will be considered an application, there are no getting out of this event once posted, not even if you edit your post saying you drop out will get you out of the monthly voting process.
If the user playing the character quits Integral, the name would be retired and ineligible for later use
The name used would be pulled by random limited to those not in use, retired, or considered forbidden (i.e. Skeith/Morganna/Zefie/Helba)
Staff and users are free to enter permitted passing the above rules
Staff are no longer given the free option to be a dothacker outside this event like my old staff perk
Names already being used are locked in and won't be called out
A posting requirement of 15 posts in the role-play forums after enrolling to this event is required to participate
There are no trading of usernames
If you win a username, you may not revert back to your former username, therefore think wisely before participating
- So if you win, your name gets changed, there are no waiting/trading/rethinking, you choose to play and you play on these terms

And remember, we are in an alternative timeline, ownership of a dothacker name does not entitle you to the history, memories, items, or hacking abilities of the name that implies

Avatars are not a given perk, you may closely resemble the player with the available sprites at your own discretion or if a full set is already available to your name.

Begging or talking to a member of the sprite team will result in a misconduct as per these rules

If won, your username will be changed when you ask an administrator or by the end of the week automatically upon winning.

In the RP, you may choose to start RP'ing as whole new person or take this event into context and state you won a new name.

Therefore you should not refer yourself as your old name in the RP.

Questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, or anything else aside "I accept" can be spoken in the discussion thread.

Should the monthly applications drop below 3 members, this event will shut down entirely.

When it's time to begin, a name will be called out here in this thread, you will have to reply to this thread to be entered in the name hat. A name will be chosen at the end of the starting month. Under no means are the dothack names or the users won are screened or selected. Every dothack name and every participant is randomized on a script that chooses the names in queue. The more people participating, the more harder it will be to win. But the only way to win is to participate and meeting the rules above. Remember there is only 1 winner, there are no runner ups in this event, and upon winning of the title you will automatically be changed to that name. There is no saving of the names for later use.

New Advancement Area rules

As I've mentioned, the Advancement Area looks great on paper, but, as the weeks go on, we realize what needs fixing. Because the staff to user ratio is quite skewed, we needed to add a new rule, which is:

Users are only allowed to participate in two new threads per week. So, your weeks may look like this.

Week 3:
1 Solo quest (finished)
1 Group quest (ongoing)

Week 4:
1 New Solo
1 New Group
1 Group being carried over from week 3.

However, you may not participate in more than two new threads in a given week.

I'll be posting these new rules in the AA rules thread to keep everyone reminded of the change. Thanks for the understanding as we iron out the problems that arise in the AA and please keep up the enthusiastic posting!!!

Help the GMs help you

As you all know, the Advancement Area was recently opened after a lot of work from the GM team. It took a while, but we hope you're all happy with the results. Now, as you have noticed, this is something that is going to continue expanding and evolving as it's life goes on. Because of this, the GM staff is going to continuously have new rules, requests, and regulations for the AA as time goes on. Our newest request comes in regard to grading and EXP.

The system was originally going to be that a GM would grade the posts, post the EXP granted, go to the user's profile, post the exp AGAIN, calculate total EXP, and then, if the player leveled up, grant the new stats. However, the popularity of the AA has made us realized this would not work to our benefit. So, a new system has been implemented.

Now, what is going to happen is the GMs will post the grades for each week in the weekly grades thread. What we now request is that users review the total EXP they gained that week, and post their total EXP in their profile like so:

Following this, the GMs will come in, look at the EXP, see if any levels were gained, and award you your new stats if you did level. Please note: If you are caught altering your EXP to boost your experience gain, severe punishments will result. If you have any questions, please post them here.
